Top 5 Wine and Meat Pairings

What’s better than a night on the town? I can’t think of anything! When we go out to eat, there shouldn’t be any heavy thinking about what kinds of wine go with our dinner’s right? Most people just want to relax and let the evening take them where it will! In all honesty, most of us do not even think about it.

In the mood for pork?

For the most part, fresh and fruity is the way to go when partaking in light, white meats! Try a crisp Chardonnay with any meal that boasts pork or fish. The refreshing fruity bouquet of the Chardonnay pairs extremely well with these meats. Pork, no matter how it’s served, with its dryer, less robust meat, goes great with white wines.

Burgers and steaks more your style?

Who doesn’t like beef? Even if you don’t, I am sure you know someone who does. So what wine makes beef sizzle? With a tangy barbecued burger or steak, you simply can’t go wrong with a lovely Zinfandel! If you’re setting your sights on an old-fashioned grilled burger or steak, hold the sauce, then a Rose’ is a nice little treat!

A Rose’, though often a smidgen sweeter, is also an excellent addition to a spicy dish as well. Dishes with spicy sausage or shellfish like oysters! For Zinfandel, the palate often requests heartier meats such as Burgers, steaks, and other dishes that are brawny!

A leg of the lamb for the King and Queen?

Do you fancy the food of medieval Kings and Queens? Then one should always want a spirit to go with such fare! An absolute favorite among the lamb chompers would have to be Light Italian Red’s, as they pair beautifully with the traditional cuts and cooks of the Tuscan tabletop! With its herbs and natural goodness.

However, never underestimate the power of changing things up a bit! Try a bold California Petite Sirah with your next feast of lamb! Its bold California red wine taste makes royalty out of all who try her!

How about Seafood and fresh fish?

For the most part, all wines can be served with fish and seafood. However, some do tend to go better with certain types of seafood! Take for instance Salmon, in general, white wines, smooth and low in fermented sugars usually work the best!

How about another glass?

Thinking one glass isn’t enough? A second glass, while inviting, tends to ‘temper’ the pallet and dampen the taste buds. But if you’re in the mood for a second, then perhaps try a different style of that ‘grape fantastic’. This way you are sure to not only indulge your senses but enjoy every single morsel!

Bon Appetite!
